Have you ever been reading the news, and feel bombarded by negative information, but you don’t feel that you can relate, and you don’t know how to help, so you cast it aside, but then you feel guilty for not contributing? Did you know that buying products from an individual living in a difficult situation, not only helps that person, but gives exposure to the problem, and helps improve their community? With our new site Art of Kindess.ca, or A-OK, that change is just a click away. A-OK is a website that sells products from artists all over the world who would ordinarily not have access to such a big audience. Every month, A-OK will interview a new person from anywhere in the world, the interviewee will give a deeper insight on what it’s like to live in that difficult situation, whether there be a struggle because of poverty, racism, a natural disaster etc. Along with the interview, a charity link, and easy steps to take to make change happen will be posted to the site. A-OK will also have a news oriented Instagram account that will only post positive news, and ways to help the negative things that do occur. We encourage people to be posting about unfortunate things happening around the world in an attempt to better them, to encourage this, on Instagram we will urge people to hashtag these posts with #makeitAOK. This hashtag helps us choose the most relevant artist, for each months issue to stay in touch with young adults, as well as keeping our older target market. We hope to encourage positivity, and collaboration between all ages and genders, there are ways to help, start with checking out A-OK, Changing the world never looked so beautiful.
