Imagine this: two young entrepreneurs and business hopefuls, attempting to start their own business. They place second in a pitch competition and receive a sponsorship for their unique idea of recycled plastic bottle t-shirts, so set off with high hopes. Fast forward 2 years, and these youth were hit with many barriers, as well as a disappointing reality. Believe it or not, these two entrepreneurs were us. Hi, I’m Nicole And I’m Molly. Currently in 11th grade, we realized how many barriers there were to setting up a company, over the past two years, including the lack of youth mentorship for entrepreneurs. This gave us a new idea, something that could help like-minded youth who are faced with a similar problem. We present to you, our proposal for a unique non-profit company, Big I, representing youth initiative, involvement, and interest! Big I is a welcoming space in the form of a worldwide network, providing individuals across the world with the opportunity to give and receive business advice. Many youth are interested in the business field but do not have enough resources or connections to those in the real world. We have a mission statement to help youth develop their passion for business, while educating them and providing easily accessible and realistic resources. Our goal is to create a web-based organization that offers a variety of support in the form of videos or other online resources, focusing on advice and knowledge shared by individuals in the business professions. For instance, entrepreneurs, CEOs, or teachers. We plan to offer more realistic options and solutions that will be available online 24/7 for youth in the business sector. This will also help youth to learn more about their future career pathways in the business field. Hopefully in the future, when our non-profit expands, we plan to host conferences, based online, in person, and in the future, where youth can meet with experienced individuals to ask questions, learn, and hear their story. And that’s it for us. Now remember, Big I lets your dreams fly Big I, Connecting youth to the business world.
