Avery: Greetings! My name is Avery Liao, Kyle: My name is Kyle Peacock and we are the founders of Eco Composting. Avery: Diving straight into the facts, food scraps account for an average of 20-30% of all waste in North America and in turn is decreasing space at landfills, increasing costs of trash disposal and ultimately accelerating climate change. Kyle: Composting is most often done in households, but in respect, the majority of hotels, apartments, and schools do not compost at all, such as our school. Avery: So, how do we solve all these problems? The answer starts with Eco Composting. Eco Composting is a service business that collects food scraps from selected buildings and converts it into compost soil that will be used to create a beautiful garden for those selected buildings. Therefore, we target business owners, schools, hotel or apartment managers because these buildings are underserviced at the moment. Additionally, profit is gained as the food scraps received will generate much more compost soil than needed for that buildings garden. Therefore, the extra fertilized soil will be resold. Kyle: This plan to reduce food scraps will increase space at landfills, decrease costs of trash disposal, and in the end, slow down climate change. Avery: Additionally, we are creating gardening opportunities for students looking for volunteer hours, or any who are looking for a hobby, such as the elderly. Kyle: To conclude, Eco Composting will solve trash disposal problems and create a cleaner environment for future generations by providing food scrap disposal to the many buildings which do not have this option currently. This business will be successful because everyone benefits from the service; we take people’s food scraps and create compost soil, and to repay we give back gardens. Even more importantly, we are benefiting the planet by reducing waste and creating a more natural, greener and beautiful environment. Avery: So why don’t you join us on board and trap your scrap, to set sail for a brighter, and cleaner future.
